Legendary French coach Guy Roux believes that he can see similarities between Eden Hazard and Paris Saint-Germain’s new signing Lucas Moura.

PSG have splashed out around €40M to sign Moura from Sao Paulo, with the Brazil international having joined up with the Ligue 1 club this winter.

There is huge expectation upon Moura’s shoulders, not just because of the large fee PSG have paid, but also because the Brazilian is extremely highly rated.

And from what Roux has seen, Carlo Ancelotti’s men may have got themselves a gem, and one comparable to a player who ruled Ligue 1 with Lille before he joined Chelsea, Eden Hazard.

"An early glance at Lucas Moura makes me think of the first time I saw Eden Hazard on the pitch", Roux told Canal +.

"And he has a positive temperament.

"This is a kid who wants to play."

Moura has quite some record to live up to if he is to emulate Hazard’s success in French football, with the Belgian forward pocketing successive Ligue 1 Player of the Year awards in 2011 and 2012.

The Brazil midfielder does have an array of stars around him at the Parc des Princes though, not least Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

And Roux, the legendary former Auxerre coach, has given the youngster a big vote of confidence with his warm words.
