In-demand Napoli striker Edinson Cavani has played down talk that he could leave the San Paulo, declaring himself happy at his current club.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger recently declared his admiration for Cavani, though he accepted that signing the Uruguayan would be an expensive move.

It would though also rely on Cavani being ready to move, and the striker has cut the figure of someone happy in his present surroundings.

"I am happy, I am happy here", he told Sky Sport Italia when asked about his future.

"I just play and do my best, certainly to score, because I like it and I know that my contribution to the team is important, as well as to make my mark in this city, which has given me a lot."

Cavani is on a long-term contract with Napoli and Wenger will have to dip deeply into his pocket to sign the goalscorer.

However, the Frenchman has insisted he now has money to spend to make Arsenal a force in the Premier League once again.

Signing Cavani would be a big statement of intent from the Gunners, while it would also show they have the financial firepower to compete with the very best.
