Chelsea and Monaco have joined the growing list of admirers of Sampdoria striker Mauro Icardi.

The 19-year-old has developed quickly this season, putting in a series of impressive displays in Serie A that have belied his tender years.

So far Icardi has scored seven goals in 16 Serie A games, despite the Blucerchiati enduring a lacklustre league campaign which sees them sitting 13th in the Italian top flight at present.

Already tracking the Argentine are AC Milan, Inter and Napoli, but now two more teams have joined the fray.

According to Sport Mediaset, European champions Chelsea and wealthy French outfit Monaco can now also be counted as keen fans of Icardi.

It is unlikely any move for the 19-year-old will materialise before the end of the winter transfer window, with Sampdoria desperate to keep hold of the striker for at least the remainder of the campaign.

Even then the Serie A side will not give up the former Barcelona youth team player easily.

Sampdoria have Icardi signed on a contract which runs until 2015.
