Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is open to joining Real Madrid in the summer, according to Spanish daily El Confidencial.

Aguero was consistently linked with making the move to Real Madrid before he joined Manchester City in the summer of 2011, though moving from Atletico Madrid to neighbours Los Blancos was a difficult task.

Now though a switch from the English champions to the Bernabeu would be far less controversial.

Real Madrid are well aware of Aguero’s talents and he is in the reckoning when the Spanish giants come to drawing up their summer transfer targets.

And should they agree a deal with Manchester City, Augero is thought to be willing to move back to Spain.

Manchester City though will likely not be willing sellers, with the Argentine striker having established himself as a firm favourite at the Etihad Stadium.

Aguero helped the club to win the Premier League title last season, while the departure of Mario Balotelli to AC Milan makes his place in the squad even more indispensable.

The 24-year-old has found the back of the net ten times for the Citizens so far this season, and he is under lock and key with a long-term contract which runs until 2016.
