PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti does not feel that David Beckham’s age will be a hindrance to his spell at the Parc des Princes.

Beckham, who is 37 years old, has joined the French giants on a contract running until the end of the season, while he will also take no salary for his time at the club, with the money instead going to a children’s charity.

It has been speculated that Beckham could have trouble getting into the PSG team given his age and the stars already at Ancelotti’s disposal.

But the Englishman is highly rated by the Italian tactician.

"He is 37 years old, but I won the Champions League with Paolo Maldini who was 39 years old", explained Ancelotti to beINSport.

"As a player, he is the most serious and the most professional that I have crossed paths with in my coaching career."

And the former AC Milan boss revealed just where he will play Beckham in his PSG line-up.

"I can use him as a defensive midfielder alongside Blaise Matuidi."

Beckham will be eligible to play for PSG in their Champions League campaign. The French side have been drawn to face Valencia in the Round of 16.
