Wesley Sneijder has promised that he will improve at new club Galatasaray as he clocks up the games.

The Dutch playmaker moved to the Turkish giants in last month’s transfer window from Italian side Inter, where he had been frozen out after refusing to sign a new contract which would have seen him take a substantial pay cut.

So far Sneijder has made three appearances for the Turkish champions, but has not particularly impressed yet.

However, having played so little for Inter this season, the Dutchman feels all he needs are games under his belt.

And then he is sure he will improve.

"I’ve been out for a long period and it has been important for me to be in the team", Sneijder told Lig TV.

"I feel good and I will get better and better.

"Despite a real lack of match practice I was in good shape. I played almost 80 minutes and it felt good."

Galatasaray will hope Sneijder can quickly get up to speed to help in the club’s push for this season’s Champions League.

The Turkish champions face German side Schalke in the Round of 16.
