Vitesse striker Wilfried Bony has opened the door to a move to Russia, explaining that he still hopes to leave the Dutch club during the winter transfer window.

While the transfer window has closed for other European nations, Russia’s remains open until the end of February – and Bony has a number of suitors in the country.

The Ivory Coast international has stated that the English Premier League is his dream destination and his agent has gone on record as stating that both Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in his client.

Vitesse’s captain has also urged Bony not to move to Russia and instead to wait until the summer, when he is sure his team-mate’s Premier League dream can come true.

But the prolific goalscorer is desperate to leave Vitesse this month, with Russia a destination to which he is prepared to move.

"I hope to leave this winter", he told Voetbal International.

"My wishes have not changed.

"Yes, the market in Russia is not open for very much longer. But what can I do? I can only work and wait, work and wait, and I hope that I will get my chance."

Losing Bony would be a big blow to Vitesse, who still harbour hopes of securing European football for next season, while they are also not completely out of the Eredivisie title race.

They have put a steep price on Bony though, with €15M thought to be needed to sign the striker, although the club’s captain has said he feels €20M should not even be considered enough, such is the crucial point in the season at which he would be lost.
