AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is delighted with the revolution which has taken place at the Rossoneri, and its results.

Last summer Milan released a virtual team of veteran performers, including Alessandro Nesta, Gennaro Gattuso, Clarence Seedorf and Filippo Inzaghi, while they also sold Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain to help balance the books.

Results suffered, with the Rossoneri languishing in the bottom half of Serie A initially, before coach Massimiliano Allegri coaxed a winning run out of the side, which have also been boosted by the signing of Mario Balotelli from Manchester City.

Now Milan sit fifth in Serie A and just three points off a top three place, which would see Champions League football at the San Siro next season.

And Galliani is delighted.

"In my opinion, we’re having a great season", he told reporters.

"After the overhaul which took place in the squad, with 12 new players coming in, the situation is now entirely different. I am proud of the development of the club."

Galliani pointed out that over the last 16 games Milan have picked up as many points as Juventus, while he then turned his attention to the youth that has been injected into the club.

"I’m looking at the positives. We’ve got a young team.

"When we played against Cagliari, we had a player born in 1994, two players from 1992 and two players born in 1990."
