AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri believes that Mario Balotelli has what it takes to become a world-class player.

Balotelli landed with the Rossoneri in last month’s transfer window and he has hit the ground running, instantly settling back into Serie A football. The Italian has scored three goals in two league games for Milan.

Allegri is understandably happy with what the 22-year-old has brought to the team and has told the former Manchester City striker that he has it within himself to become world-class.

"I’m really pleased with what Mario is giving us on the pitch", the Milan coach told a press conference.

"He has got the opportunity to become a world-class player if he dedicates himself to football.

"I hope that he takes on board the advice."

Balotelli will not be able to turn out for Milan in their Champions League Round of 16 tie against Barcelona next week, due to having featured earlier in the competition for Manchester City.

However, for the Rossoneri, securing Champions League football for next season is currently the main objective and the Italy striker is contributing towards that goal.
