Former AC Milan star Clarence Seedorf has explained how his love of winning keeps him playing the game.

The 36-year-old Dutchman left Milan last summer as the Rossoneri looked to bring down the average age of their squad.

He headed to Brazil, signing a deal with top flight side Botafogo.

Now, with the 2013 campaign kicking off in the country, Seedorf is as excited as ever and explained that he simply loves winning and, when a player wins, he does not become affected by tiredness.

"If you win, you’ll never get tired", he told his club’s official site.

"If I want more, I have to keep this pattern going, with professionalism and remain determined.

"I love to win, because that is the way to keep growing."

Seedorf is loving life in Brazil and admits he is motivated by Botafogo’s fierce rivalry with Flamengo, with who his side will lock horns on Sunday in the Rio state championship.

"It is very easy to be motivated for this kind of competition, but you have to keep the right balance, so that you do not become too worked up.

"As a child you dream of derbies and I will experience that feeling again."
