Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has promised that he will shuffle his team for the second leg against Real Madrid.

Ferguson’s men claimed a valuable 1-1 draw away at the Bernabeu in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie against Jose Mourinho’s men. But despite scoring an away goal and thus holding an advantage, their work is far from done.

And Ferguson insists he will look at the second leg with fresh eyes, which should mean a different team selection.

"When you are successful you have to look at the overall squad. It will be a different team who play against Real Madrid when they come here", he told his club’s official site.

"One or two or three who weren’t playing on Wednesday could be playing in the next game.

"I have all these international players. Why can’t I trust them?

"I could have played a completely different team on Wednesday and I think we would probably have got the same result."

Ferguson can afford to give some of the stars he picked on Wednesday a rest on Monday, when Manchester United host Reading in the FA Cup.

The Scottish boss has said he would like to win the FA Cup this season to end a nine-year drought in the competition, but there is little doubt the Premier League and Champions League take priority.
