Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is lining up a summer swoop for Barcelona full-back Dani Alves, according to Spanish daily AS.
The Gunners look set to crash out of the Champions League against Bayern Munich after losing their first leg 3-1, while they are also facing a battle to qualify for the competition next season.
And so Wenger is under serious pressure at the Emirates Stadium, but is already planning for next season, with Alves on the agenda.
The 29-year-old’s current contract with Barcelona runs until 2015.
He has remained a key part of the Blaugrana machine since joining the club from Sevilla in 2008.
Alves came close to playing in England before he signed for Barcelona, with Liverpool at one stage being in advanced talks to take him to Anfield under Rafael Benitez.
So far this season the Brazilian has made 18 appearances in La Liga for the Catalan giants.
