Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Chilean midfielder Cristian Cuevas, who will land at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
The Blues have been chasing the 17-year-old and recently reached an agreement with the player’s club side O’Higgins.
Now it seems the final details have been thrashed out, according to the promising youngster himself, who is ready to relocate to London to join the European champions.
"Everything went very quickly and everything was settled this week", Cuevas was quoted as saying by Maxifoot.
"Chelsea have been following me for over a year and we’ve finally reached an agreement."
The amount the Blues will pay for the Chilean is believed to be around the $2.6M mark.
Chelsea have beaten off competition for Cuevas, with Italian Serie A outfit Udinese also keen on the player, who has already turned out for Chile’s Under-20s despite being just 17 years old.
