Liverpool have players who are ready to make themselves heroes tonight, Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva says.
The Reds face Zenit St. Petersburg in the second leg of their Europa League Round of 32 tie bidding to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg last week.
Fresh off thrashing Swansea City 5-0 at the weekend, Liverpool are confident.
But they will need players to rise to the challenge – and Lucas thinks they will.
"We have big players that will try to be the hero and make themselves heroes", Lucas told his club’s official site.
"The most important thing is to get through. It doesn’t matter how and who scored the goals.
"But, of course, we want players like Luis Suarez to have a special night, scoring goals, and everyone will be happy.
"We couldn’t score any away goals so we know if we concede an away goal it’s going to be even harder for us.
"We need to find the right balance – to attack and get the chance to score goals, but be solid in defence because conceding would be really hard for us."
The Europa League is Liverpool’s last chance of silverware this season, following FA Cup and League Cup exits.
