Oussama Assaidi does not regret his decision to move to Liverpool last summer and feels he must have a degree of patience as he attempts to break through into the club’s starting eleven.

The Moroccan winger has featured just three times in the Premier League for Liverpool this season, with all of those appearances coming from the bench.

It has been suggested that Liverpool are ready to offload Assaidi this summer if an acceptable bid arrives and there seems to be little doubt he has much work to do to convince manager Brendan Rodgers of his qualities.

But the 24-year-old is not panicking at all.

"The games that I have been able to play have been nice, but there has been nothing to follow it up", he told Eredivisie Live, with the winger in Holland to take in a match between former club Heerenveen and FC Twente.

"I just need to have patience and I have to make sure that when I get a chance I take it.

"Recently in the Europa League against Zenit I made an impact and I hope to continue on this course."

And Assaidi, who was targeted by Ajax last summer, insists he does not feel he made the wrong decision in joining Liverpool.

"No, not at all. It’s a really nice club.

"Every time I am on the pitch I enjoy it. If you don’t play, that’s hard for a player. You always want to play.

"You must have patience. I am not playing at a small club, it is Liverpool."
