Roma have knocked back a bid of €25M from Barcelona for defender Marquinhos, according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport.

The Blaugrana are reported to have made an official offer for the 18-year-old, which would have represented a vast profit on the €4.5M Roma paid for his services last summer, with the defender arriving in Italy from Corinthians in his homeland of Brazil.

Barcelona are thought to have been impressed with Marquinhos’ performances for the Giallorossi and can only see the Brazilian continuing his upward curve.

Roma though are keen to keep hold of him and Marquinhos appears happy to remain in the Italian capital.
