Russian Premier League outfit Rubin Kazan are eyeing West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie, according to Calcio Mercato.

Odemwingie almost left the Hawthornes last month, but saw a late deal to QPR fall through, leaving him heading back to West Brom after appearing to think the transfer was all but done on deadline day.

He made his return to action for the Baggies at the weekend, but received a frosty reception from the club faithful.

Odemwingie was born in the former Soviet Union and played his youth football in Russia, while he has also turned out in the Russian Premier League with Lokomotiv Moscow, the club he left to join West Brom in 2010.
