Daniel Agger admits he is ready to look at coming to the aid of former club Brondby if investors put a concrete proposal to get involved in front of him.

Brondby are suffering under the weight of financial issues and takeovers have been mooted involving a number of former players, in order to help one of Denmark’s biggest clubs back onto its feet.

And Agger, who now plays for Liverpool in the English Premier League, is ready to look at getting involved. The 28-year-old was developed by Brondby and turned out for the club until being sold to Liverpool in 2006.

"It is true that someone from the project [to invest in Brondby] contracted me", Agger told Sporten.dk.

"They could not tell me much that was concrete.

"So I said they should come back to me when they have something more concrete to tell me.

"But it is clear that I always want to help Brondby, so if the opportunity arises, I will then look at it."

Brondby finished a lowly ninth in the Danish Superliga last season, a genuine shock to a side that have only finished outside the top three on four occasions since 1985.

At present they are rooted to the bottom of the table, with 17 points from 21 games.
