Legendary Brazilian left-back Roberto Carlos feels that Real Madrid will have a tougher task against Manchester United this evening than was the case in their two recent clashes against Barcelona.

Jose Mourinho’s men played Barcelona in the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final last week, winning 3-1 at the Camp Nou and shocking the Blaugrana.

Then they followed that up at the weekend by winning another Clasico against Barcelona, triumphing 2-1 at the Bernabeu in La Liga.

But Roberto Carlos feels Los Blancos will have a tougher task this evening, when they play Manchester United in the Champions League, with the tie poised at 1-1 after the first leg in Spain.

"Madrid are playing well, are confident", he told Onda Cero.

"The great difficulty is that the game is at Old Trafford, but Madrid can pass the test.

"We thought that at the Bernabeu, Madrid were going to get three against Manchester.

"It will be a very difficult game, more difficult than the two matches against Barcelona.

"The Englishmen are positioned very well on the pitch and are a team focused for 90 minutes. Manchester are a very dangerous team."

Roberto Carlos played the last time the two sides met at Old Trafford in 2003. Real Madrid went down 4-3 on the night, but progressed 6-5 on aggregate, before themselves being put out at the semi-final stage by Juventus.
