Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster believes that if the Bhoys can wrap up the Scottish Premier League title soon then they can hand fringe players some vital playing time before the end of the season.

At present Celtic sit 15 points clear of second-placed Motherwell at the top of the table and there looks little chance of them being overhauled.

And while that may be the case, for Forster there is a real urgency to get the title done and dusted.

"There are a lot of good youth players coming through and they would benefit from some game-time", the goalkeeper told his club’s official site.

"It would be good for them if we were to wrap up the title as early as possible because that´s experience they can then take into next season."

And to go with the Premier League title, Forster would very much like Celtic to scoop the Scottish Cup too, where they are through to the semi-final stage, with Dundee United providing the opposition.

"We all want to win the Scottish Cup, especially after the disappointment of losing the League Cup semi-final, so it´s vital we get to the final this time."
