Former Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster feels that Cristiano Ronaldo is carrying his old club through a series of sensational performances on the pitch.

Despite Real Madrid having fallen well behind Barcelona in La Liga, Ronaldo is powering the club towards a Copa del Rey and Champions League double, which would surely see the campaign deemed a success.

And Schuster feels that Real Madrid owe a great deal to the Portuguese forward, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

"He is hungry for the ball and it shows in every match", the German told Spanish daily Marca.
