Liverpool are regular visitors to watch Ajax as they plot a summer swoop for the club’s Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen, according to Dutch daily De Telegraaf.

The Dutch giants are well aware that the midfielder is a wanted man, and Liverpool have been making all the running, the club’s sporting director Marc Overmars has admitted.

Indeed, Overmars recently took the time to glance over the list of foreign scouts who have requested tickets for Ajax’s games and saw a recurring visitor – Liverpool.

"We had a look at the list of scouts from foreign clubs quite recently", Overmars told Dutch daily De Telegraaf, "and Liverpool have been regular visitors."

Ajax are keen to keep hold of Eriksen and have offered him a contract extension.

The Dane, whose current deal expires in 2014, has refused to discuss a new contract yet though, insisting he will wait until the summer.

Ajax believe Eriksen is waiting to see what options present themselves and it is looking increasingly likely that the Denmark star will be given the chance to link up with former Ajax hitman Luis Suarez at Anfield.
