Out-of-favour Bayern Munich midfielder Anatoliy Tymoshchuk expressed his “annoyance” at not being able to play first-team football at the Allianz Arena and is thinking about leaving the club.

The Ukrainian international has only appeared in 12 Bundesliga matches for Jupp Heyneckes’ men this season; eleven of those have come from the bench. He does, however, have a goal in his name, a goal he acquired when his team faced Freiburg away at the Mage Solar Stadion in 28th November.

“Whenever I play for the first team, I think, ‘maybe this is it, I’ll be played more often now’, but it doesn’t happen”, Tymoshchuk told German sport magazine Kicker. “It’s getting annoying.”

With his contract set to expire in the summer, Tymoshchuk states that an extension is unlikely. “Why am I supposed to talk to the club about a new contract if I never play for the team?

“I think I’ll go [in the summer]”, the Ukranian added.

Tymoshchuk signed for Bayern Munich in the January of 2009 from Zenit St. Petersburg for €11M.

He was a staple in Bayern Munich’s midfield, appearing in 108 matches in all competitions until the 2011/12 season. The arrival of Javi Martinez from Athletic Bilbao last summer pushed Tymoshchuk well down the pecking order.
