Paris Saint-German right-back and Holland international Gergory van der Wiel could well make a move to the English Premier League, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Dutch defender has seen his form dip in the French capital following his transfer from Eredivisie giants Ajax, prompting PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti to relegate the full-back to the bench. Out of 31 league games this season, Van der Wiel has only started in 13.

Before his transfer to the Parc des Princes, Van der Wiel was originally poised to fly to the Mestalla and join La Liga club Valencia.

Van der Wiel has admitted his shortcomings on the pitch and vowed to improve as the season progresses. But it seems the Parisian club have failed to see that change and are now looking to offload the defender in the summer.

No Premier League club, however, have recently expressed their interest in the Dutchman. The last time an English side was linked with Van der Wiel was in 2011, when then Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas was said to be keen on bringing the defender to Stamford Bridge.
