Shakhtar Donetsk have slapped a €30M asking price on the head of talented Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to Russian daily Izvestia.

The 24-year-old has seen himself linked with a whole host of European clubs in recent months, with English Premier League side Liverpool mooted as being amongst his suitors, while fellow English teams Chelsea and Manchester City have also seen their names linked with the midfielder.

And it is little surprise that Mkhitaryan has attracted such interest, with a series of superb performances for Mircea Lucescu’s men this season, both in the Ukrainian Premier League and the Champions League.

Mkhitaryan featured in all eight of Shakhtar Donetsk’s Champions League games, while he has found the back of the net 19 times in 21 Ukrainian Premier League matches, operating in an advanced midfield position.

The Armenian is thought to be willing to move on from the Donbass Arena, but a fee must be agreed with Shakhtar Donetsk.

And the Ukrainian giants believe the player’s value to be €30M.

It remains to be seen if any of the sides interested in Mkhitaryan will be willing to bid such a substantial amount this summer.
