Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna is firmly on the summer shortlist of French giants Paris Saint-Germain, according to Mercato365.

The future of the France international right-back is up in the air following the ticking down of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.

Indeed, Sagna’s deal with Arsene Wenger’s men expires in the summer of 2014, and he is recently believed to have rejected an extension on the ground that it did not meet his salary expectations.

Affording Sagna’s wage demands will present little problem for PSG, with the French giants ready to open their chequebook once again when the transfer window reopens.

The Ligue 1 leaders signed Gregory van der Wiel from Ajax last summer, but the right-back has fallen short of expectations so far this season.

PSG are also keen to build a strong French core at the club, sporting director Leonardo has admitted, and Sagna would be a welcome arrival.

The 30-year-old joined Arsenal in 2007 from Auxerre.
