Bayern Munich holding midfielder Javi Martinez has called on his team-mates not to underestimate Barcelona’s powers of recovery, reminding them that the Blaugrana have already shown what they can do this season by beating Serie A giants AC Milan 4-0.

It is the result everyone is still talking about all around the world of football – Barcelona succumbed to a 4-0 loss as Thomas Muller slotted in two goals while Mario Gomez and Arjen Robben scored one each for Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie at the Allianz Arena last week.

But ex-Athletic Bilbao player Martinez has not taken Barcelona’s might for granted, and was quoted as saying by Spanish daily AS, "We must be very careful because the club never gives up.

"Barcelona is capable of achieving a comeback – they won 4-0 against Milan in their home ground", Martinez added.

The midfielder also recalled a heated incident he had with his opposite number Xavi Hernandez last week.

"He insulted me during the game as you can understand because those were under very tense encounters.

"Friendships are not considered during those times, though in the end we did shake hands", Martinez added.

All eyes of the world will be on Camp Nou as the two colossal clubs battle it out once again in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final tie this evening.
