Christian Eriksen has reiterated that leaving Ajax on a free transfer in the summer of 2014 is not an option, suggesting he will sign a new contract if no acceptable offer arrives this summer.

The Denmark international is a wanted man, with English Premier League giants Liverpool scouting him consistently this season, while sides such as Newcastle, Tottenham Hotspur, Inter and Manchester United have also been listed as suitors.

Eriksen’s contract at the Amsterdam ArenA expires in 2014 and he has put talks on an extension on ice, determined as he is to see what offers land on the table this summer.

And should nothing tempt him, he is fully prepared to put pen to paper to stay with Frank de Boer’s men.

"It could be that a transfer comes", he told Voetbal International.

"As I have said before, I won’t go on a free transfer. Ajax deserve more given what the club means to me.

"Not much has changed with regards to my future. I want to first win the title. That’s the main thing."

With a four-point lead over PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord, victory over Willem II later today would hand Ajax the Eredivisie crown.
