Borussia Dortmund defensive midfielder Sebastian Kehl has asserted that his club’s way of playing can "hurt" German champions Bayern Munich ahead of the two clubs’ colossal Champions League final encounter at Wembley on 25th May.

Dortmund grabbed a spot at Wembley by defeating La Liga giants Real Madrid 4-3 on aggregate in the semi-final, with prolific forward Robert Lewandowski recording the first ever hat-trick Los Blancos had suffered in the history of the Champions League during the two sides’ first leg match.



"Myself and the team believe, of course, that we can beat Bayern", the 33-year-old told UEFA.

"We were not beaten in either game against them in the Bundesliga. That shows that our way of playing can hurt [Bayern]. Their respect will be very, very big as well", Kehl added.

Indeed, Bayern Munich were unable to defeat Dortmund in their two meetings in the Bundesliga this season, with both matches ending in a 1-1 stalemate.

"We are entering the game with lots of anticipation but also huge belief that we are able to win it. We have a plan and know how we can beat them. They know that as well and it is something which is inside their heads", the holding midfielder concluded
