Celtic striker Georgios Samaras is looking forward to achieving a potential double with the Celts this season.

The Greek striker scored a brace in the Hoops’ 4-0 thrashing of Dundee United in the final Scottish league game of the season yesterday.

Having already bagged their second consecutive SPL trophy this season, Samaras and his team-mates have their eyes upon the Scottish Cup final against Hibernian on Sunday.

“We’ve won the SPL with a huge gap, we had a great run in Europe and want to win the cup", the 28-year-old told his club’s official site.

"We have one more week to work hard and make sure we finish the season on a high. That’s the target now.”

Samaras has notched up 14 goals for the Celts this season, and he has insisted that the team are more important than him.

He has also urged manager Neil Lennon to take the decision whether to include the Greece international in the starting eleven for Celtic’s Hampden Park showdown with Hibernian.

“If I start or not, it’s up to the gaffer. If I play one minute or 90, it’s up to him. We want to win as a team.

“It’s not about big egos and who is going to play or not. It’s about the team.

"We are going to win together. I don’t think an individual can win a game – we need to work together”, he added.
