Gonzalo Higuain’s impending move from Real Madrid to Juventus is "70%" a done-deal, with the Argentine striker believed to be unsettled at the Santiago Bernabeu and looking for a quick but lucrative exit.

The 2012/13 Serie A champions have long been tipped as Higuain’s potential destination this summer, speculation all the more fuelled when the striker said he felt "honoured" to be linked with a move to Juventus.

Real Madrid, for their part, have raised the defences surrounding their star striker, slapping a €25m asking price on Higuain’s head to ward off suitors.

And yet the Bianconeri are still pushing through with their bid for the Argentine centre-forward. Indeed, they are willing to negotiate the price asked and talks are mooted to be under way between the two clubs.

"Higuain to Juventus? There is about 50-60%, maybe even 70% chance that both club can conclude a deal soon", said Ernesto Bronzetti, a confidant of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, to Italian daily Tuttosport.

"The Higuain talks will proceed because the striker has definitely reiterated his desire to leave the club. They came to Madrid – [Juventus director general Giuseppe] Marotta, [sporting director Fabio] Paratici, [manager Antonio] Conte – and we talked.

"He [Higuain] also talked with them and expressed his desire to leave. Let’s see. Around early June we will see how to approach the situation", Bronzetti concluded.

The statement confirms earlier reports that Marotta and company did meet with the Real Madrid hierarchy about a possible deal for Higuain. Included in those talks was a €22m offer from the Serie A heavyweights.
