Tottenham Hotspur shot-stopper Hugo Lloris has looked back on his debut English Premier League season, and has insisted that playing during the Christmas period was his favourite moment.

The France international joined the Lilywhites on the final day of the summer transfer window last year from Lyon, and has appeared in 33 games for Andre Villas-Boas’ side this season.

"There have been many great moments, but my favourite was the Christmas period, because it was a new thing for me”, the 26-year-old told Spurs’ official site.

"I’m not used to playing at Christmas, normally it is holiday time [in Ligue 1].

“It was special to have family at home, eat Christmas food but play and train every day, to play important games against Aston Villa and Sunderland before New Year’s Eve.”

The former Nice youth player also looked back on his Europa League debut with Spurs against Lazio in September last year. The match ended in a goalless draw, and Lloris earned his first clean sheet with the North London outfit.

"Also, my first game for Spurs against Lazio in the Europa League, then Aston Villa in the Premier League [in October]. There have been a lot of good moments."

Lloris was also in the running for the Premier League Player of the Month for December 2012 after conceding only four goals from six games.

However, he eventually lost out to Manchester United’s Robin van Persie.
