Defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos has no intention of moving away from Schalke in the summer, according to the player’s agent.

The Greece international has been sidelined with a knee injury since December last year, but has maintained a healthy 92 games in all competitions for the Bundesliga side since his arrival from Olympiacos in 2010.

Two months before being injured, the 21-year-old extended his contract until 2015, while his performances in last year’s European Championship have attracted interest from abroad.

Manchester United and Liverpool are the leading names in the hat, with Chelsea and Manchester City also interested.

However, Papadopoulos’ agent Paul Koutsoliakos was quoted by German daily Bild as saying: "I can say that we have no interest in a transfer away from Schalke before the end of his contract.

"Kyriakos is happy to be in the club. He is focused solely on being fit for the club’s start of the new season."

Papadopoulos has become a routine figure in the Greece backline since his senior debut in 2011, earning 16 caps and also scoring four goals.
