Nicklas Bendtner is being sounded out for a possible move away from parent club Arsenal to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, with the option of a loan followed by a permanent deal.

According to Danish news outlet Sporten, the 25-year-old, who made nine Serie A appearances for Juventus this season, will be given the chance of playing regular first-team football at the German club.

Bendtner has been out on loan on several occasions during his Arsenal contract, with spells at Birmingham and Sunderland added to his Italy experience.

And with his contract at the Emirates set to expire next summer, Frankfurt appear keen on securing a loan deal before committing themselves to a permanent move for the Denmark international.

Frankfurt chairman Heribert Bruchhagen told Sporten: "Nicklas Bendtner is a very interesting player for us. Beyond that we do not want to comment right now."

Bendtner had himself claimed recently that his experience at Juventus had not gone according to plan, adding that he had been in contact with "five or six clubs" over a permanent deal.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will agree to the initial loan deal with Frankfurt for Bendtner, who joined the Gunners on a youth contract in 2004.

Bendtner went on to make 154 appearances for the London club’s senior side, scoring 45 goals, whilst he has also enjoyed success at international level, earning 51 caps for Denmark with 21 goals.
