Saint-Etienne centre-back Kurt Zouma is a man in demand, his agent has revealed, with clubs of the calibre of Liverpool and Manchester United extremely keen on the 18-year-old defensive starlet.

Zouma has long been tipped for big things and a number of sides have consistently booked their talent spotters trips to France to keep tabs on the youngster’s progress.

Les Verts have been easing Zouma into first team action in Ligue 1 and last season the 18-year-old managed 18 appearances in the French top flight, as Saint-Etienne recorded a fifth-place finish.

Zouma is locked down on a contract running until 2017 and Saint-Etienne will only sell for top dollar, but that has not put clubs off pursuing him, as one of his advisors David Venditelli explained to Fichajes.

"English, Italian and Spanish teams have been interested in him. But when you want to sell a player for more than €10m it is hard to find a team capable of meeting those demands", he said.

"The club knows we’ve spoken to Liverpool, with Atletico Madrid and with Bayer Leverkusen.

"They also know that Manchester United are interested, but don’t want to pay the money they want. They also know that Juventus are interested.

"I say this because these are the names of the teams that have come and who are watching developments."

Venditelli also admitted Anzhi Makhachkala are keen on the defender and insisted it would be "cool" for Zouma to play for the Dagestan giants.
