Corinthians have insisted that they are firmly in the dark over whether midfielder Paulinho will choose to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Spurs have triggered the player’s €20m release clause in the expectation of taking the 24-year-old to White Hart Lane.

Paulinho has though vowed to only make his decision over the switch after the Confederations Cup, in which he is currently competing with Brazil.

And Corinthians do not have any inkling over whether the midfielder will rebuff Spurs’ approach or take the next plane to London; or perhaps wait for another club to also trigger his release clause.

"The limited lump sum is €20m and Corinthians cannot do anything. We must have a conversation with Paulinho", club director Duilio Monteiro Alves told UOL Esporte.

"He knows there is an offer as we told him.

"He asked to wait until after his return from the national team. Afterwards we will decide."

Meanwhile, Paulinho has dropped some hint over his thinking, admitting "England is a dream."

Paulinho was the subject of fierce interest from Inter in January, while more recently Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the talented schemer.
