Liverpool have confirmed the sale of England Under-21 midfielder Jonjo Shelvey to Swansea City.

Shelvey has seen first team opportunities limited at Anfield and Liverpool have allowed him to head to the Liberty Stadium on a permanent transfer.

While the Reds have not disclosed the amount Michael Laudrup’s League Cup winners have paid for the 21-year-old, it is believed to be around the £6m mark.

"Liverpool Football Club have confirmed Jonjo Shelvey has completed a transfer to Swansea City", the Merseyside giants announced on their official site.
