Barcelona have cooled on moves for Thiago Silva and David Luiz due to price concerns, but are looking closely at Liverpool defender Daniel Agger.

Coach Tito Vilanova has been keen to snap up Thiago Silva from Paris Saint-Germain, however the French champions are adamant that the Brazil centre-back will not be leaving the Parc des Princes.

Chelsea stopper Luiz has been considered as an alternative, but the Blues are thought to want in excess of €30m for the former Benfica man – too rich for Barcelona.

And so the Spanish champions are looking at tempting Agger to the Camp Nou, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

Manchester City pushed to sign the Denmark international last summer, but failed to agree a fee with Liverpool.

Agger was also keen to remain at Anfield.

Barcelona though hope that the Denmark star could be open to heading to Spain, while they also believe Liverpool may take a more realistic view of the defender’s asking price than has been the case for PSG with Thiago Silva and Chelsea with Luiz.
