The agent of Sporting Lisbon’s in-demand winger Bruma has denied that FC Porto have made contact over signing his client.

Bruma, who has been dubbed the "new Cristiano Ronaldo" in some quarters, has seen his stock skyrocket over the last six months, capped off by a series of fine performances in this summer’s Under-20 World Cup in Turkey.

And with just one year left on the 18-year-old’s contract, Sporting Lisbon have been left in a vulnerable position, especially with concrete interest from Chelsea, while Manchester City are also thought to be keen.

But talk that Porto are moving in for the kill is wide of the mark, Bruma’s agent Catio Balde says.

"I do not know where this news came from", he told Radio Renascenca.

"Nobody from FC Porto has spoken to me and I don’t think they have spoken with his representative [Bebiano Gomes] or with the player."

Bruma is currently paid €30,000 per year by Sporting Lisbon.

He is keen for that to rise to €1m.
