Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo has turned down the chance to join English Premier League side Southampton, according to Sky Italia.
The Saints are believed to have had a bid of around €20m for the Argentine accepted by the Giallorossi, but Osvaldo vetoed the switch.
Indeed, the 27-year-old has his sights set on a move to a bigger club this summer.
Osvaldo’s agent is expected to conduct talks with Russian Premier League giants Zenit St. Petersburg, while he is also hoping to book in an appointment with Manchester City.
Osvaldo joined Roma in 2011, making the move from Spanish La Liga side Espanyol.
The striker had played in Italy before, with spells at Atalanta, Lecce, Fiorentina and Bologna under his belt.
Despite being born in Argentina, Osvaldo has chosen to represent Italy at international level and has won eight caps with the Azzurri to date.
