Gervinho remained at home from Arsenal’s pre-season tour, with the club citing sickness as the reason.

However, first team football could be at a premium for the player next season, especially if Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is successful in his summer recruitment plans.

Gervinho joined Arsenal from Lille in the summer of 2011.
