Eredivisie side FC Groningen have snapped up Liverpool midfield starlet Krisztian Adorjan on a season-long loan.

The Dutch club have the option of signing the youngster after the end of this season, should he impress during the forthcoming campaign.



The Hungarian impressed in a recent two-week trial with Groningen and the club’s manager Erwin van der Looi has decided to include Adorjan in his squad for the upcoming campaign.

The 20-year-old, who played for an hour against Helmond Sport in a pre-season friendly match, is Groningen’s fourth summer signing following the arrivals of Nick van der Velden, Eric Botteghin and Giliano Wijnaldum.

Adorjan joined Liverpool’s academy in the summer of 2009 from MTK Hungaria.

The Hungarian youngster has captained his country at various levels and was an important player for Liverpool’s Under-18 side that came close to winning the title in the 2010/11 campaign, scoring eight goals and providing 19 assists.
