Out-of-favour Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi wants to play for Anderlecht, the Belgian side’s coach has explained.

Assaidi joined Liverpool last summer from Dutch Eredivisie outfit Heerenveen but, despite being labelled as an exciting talent by Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, barely featured last season.

Now the Moroccan is looking for the exit door and, Anderlecht coach John van den Brom has explained, wants a switch to Belgium.

"Assaidi has indicated that he wants to play football for Anderlecht", the tactician told Het Laatse Nieuws.

"We now need to move or we will be taking a risk because there are still a number of clubs interested."

One of the teams keen on the 24-year-old are Dutch side Feyenoord, who have been looking to loan Assaidi.

It is not yet clear whether Anderlecht will seek to do the same, or sign the Liverpool man on a permanent basis.
