Merseyside giants Everton are believed to be planning a swoop for Juventus’ 30-year-old target man Fabio Quagliarella, according to SportMediaSet.

Under new manager Roberto Martinez, Everton have already moved in to sign a total four players – Arouna Kone, Joel Robles, Antolin Alcaraz from the manager’s former club Wigan Athletic, as well as snapping up Barcelona starlet Gerard Deulofeu on loan.

But it appears that the Spanish tactician is not yet done with his transfer business this summer, with the club looking set to swoop for Quagliarella.

The Italian striker, for his part, scored a total 13 goals in his 35 appearances for the Bianconeri last season, but with the arrival of Carlos Tevez from Manchester City and Fernando Llorente from Athletic Bilbao, Quagliarella’s standing in manager Antonio Conte’s plans is thrown into doubt.

Everton will be looking to play that angle to Quagliarella come bargaining time should the Toffees indeed push through with their bid. As it stands, they have already enquired about the striker’s availability.

Of course, the Goodison Park outfit are not the only ones gunning for Quagliarella’s signature, with fellow Premier League side Norwich City also believed to be keen on luring the striker to Carrow Road.

Quagliarella’s contract with Juventus is set to expire in 2015.
