FC Twente have ruled out a move for Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner, feeling the Denmark international out of reach financially.

The Tukkers are aiming to sign another goalscorer and had considered moving for Bendtner, who is desperate to exit Arsenal this summer.

However, according to Dutch daily De Telegraaf, Twente have concluded they cannot afford to sign Bendtner due to the player’s wage demands.

Bendtner had seemed poised to join Bundesliga outfit Hannover earlier this summer, but they too withdrew from a deal after learning of the striker’s salary expectations, after giving the hitman chance to change his demands.

Another interested party, Malaga, may now be the only game left in town for Bendtner.

The striker spent last season on loan at Italian champions Juventus, but was unable to convince the Turin giants to make the switch a permanent one.

Arsenal are willing to allow Bendtner, who is surplus to requirements, to leave.

The striker was told earlier this summer by Denmark’s assistant coach that the time has come for him to put his career ahead of money.
