Atletico Madrid have revealed that the club have not received any offer for their forward Diego Costa from Liverpool or any other club, according to Spanish daily AS.

Several outlets had claimed that the Reds have placed a bid of around €25m to acquire the services of the Brazilian international, with speculation he could be a direct replacement for Luis Suarez, who wants to leave the Merseyside club.

However, Atletico Madrid have quashed all those reports and stated that Costa will remain with the capital club for this season as well as the 2014/15 campaign.

The 24-year-old’s current contract with the Spanish side runs until 2016. However, it does contain a release clause of €25m which, if Liverpool do activate, will render the Spanish side powerless.
