Stoke City are bidding to snap up former Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf, who currently plies his trade in Germany with Hannover.

Potters boss Mark Hughes is keen to bolster his attacking power ahead of the new campaign and it is thought Stoke have offered €6m to sign the Senegal international.

According to German daily Bild, Stoke representatives met with Diouf's agent in Germany recently to work on a transfer.

And Stoke are willing to pay €6m for Diouf, although it is not clear whether that will be enough for the Bundesliga side to bid farewell to the 25-year-old.
