Arsenal and Liverpool will be gearing up to face competition from Turkey as Galatasaray have indicated their interest ensuring an Arda Turan return to Turkey.

The Atletico Madrid winger has come into view this summer after impressing in La Liga last season – 32 games with five goals and six assists – and could prove a godsend for Arsene Wenger who had shown prior interest.

The Arsenal boss has been under fire to spend money on players after a dismal start to the new Premier League season, while Liverpool have also set their eyes on Turkey international Turan.

There is good news for both Premier League clubs as Turan's agent Ahmet Bulut has confirmed the player is very interested in the English game, and that talks have taken place.

Bulut was quoted by Eurosport as saying: "Atletico Madrid do not want to sell Arda. However, if his €24m minimum release clause is activated then they will have to listen to offers.

"A transfer to the Premier League is likely. There are a few clubs interested. Liverpool is one and Arsenal another. There have been no concrete offers but two clubs have spoken about wages."

Galatasaray, however, will not be giving up their chase without a fight for the player who began his footballing life with them – graduating to the senior side in 2005 and moving to Atletico Madrid in 2011.

Galatasaray president Unal Aysal was quoted by Turkish sports daily Fanatik as saying: "I have spoken to Arda and he wants to return. We are doing our best. There are already significant movements."

Turan has so far made 87 appearances for Atletico Madrid – with 10 goals – whilst with Turkey, the 26-year-old has already racked up 64 caps.
