Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is happy with the progress of Eden Hazard and feels that the winger has the potential to become a “real top player.”

The Belgian international impressed in the Blues’ opening game of the season against Hull City Tigers on Sunday and Mourinho has no doubt that Hazard has got talent.

However, the manager has demanded more responsibility and ambition from the 22-year-old in order to become a great player.

“I don't know what I can bring but I know what I want from him. I want more responsibility and I want more ambition, because when you are a normal player you have to be happy when you perform okay, when you have some actions during the game that show your quality”, he told his club’s official site.

“When you have top talent you cannot waste that talent so I want to give him that ambition to be better and better, and to express himself on the pitch, match after match, not be up and down.

“He has the conditions to be a real top player. Football is full of top talents but not many top players. He is working very hard and I am very pleased with him. In the second part of pre-season in the States he was already coming in my direction and I am very happy with him.”

Hazard joined Chelsea from French club Lille last summer and impressed one and all in his debut season in English top flight football.

He scored nine goals and provided 14 assists in 34 Premier League games for the Blues.

The winger, who is contracted with the Stamford Bridge outfit until 2017, has 37 caps and five goals for Belgium to his name.
