Real Madrid vice-president Fernando Fernandez Tapias has accused Tottenham Hotspur of employing "stalling" tactics over the delay to Gareth Bale's transfer.

Bale's move has gathered pace in the last week, and the winger has attempted to speed things up himself by missing training for three consecutive days.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas termed Bale's behaviour as disrespectful and the Welshman also faces a fine.

However, while Spurs have already begun to "spend" the potential €100m windfall, Real Madrid vice-president Tapias is taking nothing for granted.

Indeed, if Real Madrid's hopes were to be believed, Bale would have been presented as a player last week itself.

For now, Tapias was quoted as saying by Spanish daily AS: "There are problems, but I think we will get there in the end.

"I think it will happen but I am not prepared to swear or sign off on it completely.

"We're going to have to wait because [Tottenham] are stalling."
